Surface is surely one of the few Sci-Fi HOGs out there, however, while the theme is interesting, the story doesn't seem fresh... The story begins with a boy went missing. and you, no doubt, have to go and find and rescue him! The game begins with (too) familiar plot and uninteresting gameplay but then the game gets a lot better....story gets more complicated and more exciting! Graphics in this game are crisp, locations are very gorgeous so the HOS are not hard to find although they are mostly huge junk piles. Puzzles are mostly challenging, some are new and some are old! The game didn't give us anything really new, except that the cut scenes are full motion videos with live-acting and the actors are really well acted and voice overs are great too! If you get stuck anywhere, you can use the Hint button which is really generous and easy to follow, in this CE version also comes with Strategy Guide and many other exclusive extras! The game is lengthily, while Bonus Chapter also offers us many new locations and around 1 hour of gameplay! All in all, Surface is surely one of the games that worth playing, although nothing really new can found...
